Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Apigee to join our team in Dammam. In this role, you will design and implement end-to-end API management solutions on Google Cloud Platform, drive architecture strategy for our clients, and ensure robust, scalable, and secure integrations using Apigee. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and lead best practices for API lifecycle management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of API and microservices architectures using Apigee on GCP
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define solution roadmaps
- Develop detailed technical and integration designs, including API proxies, policies, security standards, and traffic management
- Advise on cloud-native best practices, infrastructure automation, and DevOps processes
- Conduct architecture reviews, proof of concepts, and performance tuning to ensure scalability and reliability
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and present architectural blueprints, design documents, and status reports to stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- 7–10 years of experience in enterprise solution architecture or solution design
- Expertise in Apigee API management platform (design, deployment, policies, security)
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services and infrastructure
- Proven track record designing RESTful APIs, OAuth2/JWT authentication, and API security best practices
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including workshop facilitation
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Apigee certifications
- Experience in telecom, finance, or oil & gas industries
- Familiarity with other API gateway technologies (e.g., Mulesoft, Kong)
- Knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman, or other enterprise architecture frameworks
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Leadership experience managing cross-functional technical teams
