Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer based in Cairo to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced business intelligence solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform complex data into actionable insights, drive decision-making, and mentor junior developers while ensuring best practices in data visualization and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction and transformation
- Implement data models, DAX measures, and M queries to support reporting needs
- Automate data ingestion and transformation processes using Python
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all BI deliverables
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in Power BI solutions
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and data analysts
- Document BI solutions, data flows, and technical specifications
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to integrate BI solutions into data warehouse environments
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience designing and implementing BI solutions using Power BI
- Expert proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile
- Strong SQL skills including query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures
- Proficient in Python for ETL, scripting, and data manipulation
- In-depth knowledge of data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and dimensional design
- Advanced DAX and Power Query (M) skills
- Experience working with relational databases and data warehouses
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, or AWS Redshift
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration in BI solutions
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification
- Experience in financial services, telecommunications, or FMCG sectors
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
- Prior experience leading BI project teams or mentoring staff
