Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Robotics Embedded System Engineer to join our R&D team in Dubai, UAE. You will architect, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for advanced robotic platforms, ensuring robust performance and seamless integration of sensors, actuators, and control algorithms in a Linux/ROS2 environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement real-time embedded software for robotic systems using C++ and Python
- Integrate and configure ROS2 packages, custom drivers, and middleware on Linux-based platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define and test sensor interfaces, communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART), and motor controllers
- Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate software functionality and reliability
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization under real-time constraints
- Troubleshoot hardware-software interactions and perform field deployments and maintenance
- Maintain documentation, perform code reviews, and follow best practices in version control and software configuration management
- Work cross-functionally with mechanical, electronics, and algorithm teams to deliver turnkey robotic solutions
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or related field
- 4–7 years of professional experience in embedded systems development for robotics
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for real-time and high-performance applications
- Hands-on experience with ROS2 framework and Linux OS (Ubuntu or similar)
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures (ARM, microcontrollers) and peripheral interfaces
- Experience with debugging tools (GDB, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and version control (Git)
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
- Experience with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS, RTEMS)
- Familiarity with FPGA-based design or hardware acceleration
- Knowledge of computer vision or machine learning algorithms for robotics
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
