Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team, leading the design, implementation, and commissioning of electrical power systems. The ideal candidate will have 10–12 years of experience in DC power systems, LVAC distribution, and substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review electrical designs for LVAC and DC power distribution systems
- Specify equipment and materials for substation and power system projects
- Perform load flow, short-circuit and protection coordination studies
- Prepare technical specifications, schematics, and detailed drawings using industry software
- Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of electrical systems on site
- Coordinate with procurement, construction and project management teams to ensure timely delivery
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE and local regulatory standards
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting throughout project lifecycle
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical workshops
- Prepare progress reports, cost estimates and risk assessments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10–12 years of professional experience in electrical power systems
- Proven expertise in LVAC distribution and DC power systems
- Hands-on experience with substation design, protection and control
- Strong knowledge of IEC and IEEE standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP or similar electrical analysis tools
- Demonstrated project lifecycle management skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with UAE regulatory bodies (ADDC, DCD)
- Familiarity with SCADA and relay protection systems
- NEBOSH or equivalent safety certification
- Arabic language proficiency
- Previous experience in oil & gas or utility sector projects in the GCC
