Corporate Model Development

About the Role:

As a Corporate Model Development Analyst based in Abu Dhabi, you will design, develop, and validate credit risk models in alignment with IFRS9 and Basel frameworks to support the bank's corporate lending portfolio. You will collaborate with risk management, finance, and data teams to ensure models meet regulatory requirements and drive informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and validate corporate credit risk models for the bank’s lending portfolio
• Perform IFRS9 expected credit loss calculations and provisioning exercises
• Ensure models comply with Basel II/III regulatory standards and local CBUAE guidelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into risk management processes
• Prepare comprehensive documentation, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders and regulators
• Monitor model performance and implement enhancements based on back-testing and benchmarking results
• Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging risks

Required Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in corporate credit risk model development within banking or financial services
• Proficiency in IFRS9 expected credit loss modeling and provisioning requirements
• Solid understanding of Basel II/III frameworks related to credit risk
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or SAS for statistical modeling
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Experience with data analysis, statistical techniques, and model validation processes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related discipline
• Professional certifications such as CFA or FRM
• Experience working in the UAE banking environment and knowledge of CBUAE regulations
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a multicultural environment
